We’ve long carried housemade sausages, but when we added a special Thursday housemade sausage sandwich to our menu earlier in the year, they quickly became one of the most popular items we offer! It’s no wonder, since we use the same quality meats you’ll find at our Butcher Counter to create our delicious sausages by hand every week. Some sausage makers may give the rest of us a bad rap, but at Ted’s we only use the shoulder of purebred Heritage hogs combined with savory natural flavorings. You read that right: At Ted’s, our housemade sausages are made with premium Heritage breed pork.

Ted’s Signature Housemade Sausages

The following housemade sausages are regularly featured in our case:

  • Mild Italian Sausage – classic fennel-based blend
  • Hot Italian Sausage – fennel & hot paprika
  • Fresh German Sausage – pork & veal with fresh lemon zest & dill
  • Fresh Chorizo – smoky Mexican-style sausage
  • Bratwurst – savory blend of pork & veal with a smoother grind
  • Pork & Alligator Sausage – Cajun flavors with bell peppers


Monthly Housemade Sausage and Thursday Sausage Sandwich

There’s plenty of variety with our signature housemade sausage options, but we also crank out a special in-house sausage each month, which is featured in the case for a limited time. We serve up this monthly feature every Thursday as a sandwich while supplies last. Serving Our Housemade Sausages

If you are purchasing housemade sausages from the case at Ted’s, we are always willing to offer up some serving suggestions. In general, the flavor is delicious on its own… simply grill it and slice it up to enjoy. If you want to add a little something, we suggest traditional Polish stone-ground mustard or French Dijon mustard. They also pair really well with the gourmet locally-sourced sauces we sell from 9°80° and, of course, local craft beer!
