Seasonal Sipping Should End Sustainably… Recycle Your Glass at Ted’s

We love a good wine pairing at Ted’s, and our shelves are stocked with a variety of selections for your holiday parties throughout the year! But when the fun is over and the cleanup begins, the team at Ted’s is asking you to think twice about what you do with your empty bottles in Charleston. Unfortunately, the glass that many of us faithfully put in our blue bins is not recycled by Charleston County as glass. Instead, it is crushed for use in roadbeds or dumped in landfills where glass will not decompose.

Are you interested in a better plan for glass recycling? We have just the answer! Local business Fisher Recycling has developed a way that reclaimed glass in the tri-county area can be recycled as glass products instead of being discarded. To help our customers conveniently take advantage of this sustainable service, we have placed one of Fisher’s GLASS-ONLY bright green carts behind our downtown location.

Our photo shows how much glass waste we produce at Ted’s… bottles of wine, beer & specialty drinks, jars of gourmet food items, and even the occasional broken wine glass. We love to see our customers and staff jumping on board to help keep our glass out of our local landfills. Like Fisher Recycling says, it does make a difference!
