How To Cook A Rib Roast

With a simple meat thermometer, cooking the perfect rib roast is easy. And when you’re cooking with quality beef like Painted Hills Natural Beef, salt and pepper is all you need to enhance the natural flavor of the meat.

  • Preheat oven to 500°
  • Season outside of roast with salt and pepper
  • Place roast in a roasting pan, rib side down, and cook for about 20 minutes, until it has a good sear on the outside
  • Reduce temperature to 250°

Cooking times vary on ovens and size of roast. Total cooking time is about 10 minutes per lb. Internal temp at center should be 120° for rare.

Allow roast to rest for 30 minutes before carving.
